PASTURED PORK

Our pigs are born and raised here on our farm which allows us to control the quality and consistency.  After weaning, the piglets are rotated through paddocks that offer wooded and grassland areas to encourage them to behave like pigs were meant to.  They are offered supplemental grain to compliment the grasses, legumes, and roots they get from their pasture. Feed for the pigs is ground and mixed on our farm from locally sourced grains whenever possible.  This allows us to ensure the quality, freshness, and composition. This grain mix is non-GMO, corn free, and soy free. Why is being corn and soy free important? Barley, which we use in the place of corn in the diet, has three times the concentration of heart healthy Omega 3 fatty acids. Field peas provide additional dietary protein in place of soybean meal. 94% of US soy is from GMO varieties. Soy can cause health issues in some people, and it requires special heat treating to make it feedable to livestock. All good reasons to not feed it to our pigs! 

   Our pork is processed under USDA inspection and available in individual cuts from our farm.
